We’ve come a long way since the days of smoking a tobacco cigarette – so much so that today’s people dependent on nicotine have a slew of options at their fingertips when it comes to getting a nicotine rush, whether by nicotine gum, cigar, electronic cigarettes, herbal cigarettes or regular tobacco cigarettes. Ultimately, the question boils down to this: To smoke, or not to smoke. And if not to smoke, can vape serve the purpose? How different vaping e liquid is from smoking a cig?
The purpose of writing this article is not to praise vaping over smoking but to introduce you to those differences between the two which are not much talked about. Let’s have a look at each one of them.
1 Vaping is cleaner than smoking.
Smoking leaves you with a lot of cig stubs/butts and ashes to manage. Having an ashtray does not solve this litter problem – carrying ashtray everywhere is not even possible all the time. Every little more effort you have to put in to manage all those pesky remains of smoking makes it utterly annoying at the end of the day. However, it is not the case when you choose to vape e liquid. You don’t have to worry about the residue since vaping does not produce any; it liberates you from the inconvenience of collecting cigarette ashes.
2 Vaping e liquid won’t turn your nails yellow.
This is the plight of all heavy smokers who see their nails and fingers slowly but steadily taking a permanent yellow stain. It is so because of their frequent exposure to smoke and tar in smoke. This deprives their body of oxygen, which becomes more and more visible on their nails over time. On this count, you can heave a sigh of relief since vaping is not bad for your nails. Now you may ask why it so when both deliver nicotine. Well, it is so because first, you vape e liquid (unless you choose any other material like dry herbs) and not tobacco, and second, that you produce vapours and not smoke.
3 Smoke till your cig lets you; vape till your battery lasts;
You can vape e liquid for as long as your battery lasts. This means with one single charge, you can enjoy somewhere between 400 to 1000 puffs (varies with mAh of different batteries) without any hassle. But you can generally take 8-12 puffs per lit regular tobacco cig.
4 Knowing that you’re done vaping is not as easy as it is with smoking
Smoking a cigarette makes certain things quite obvious, such as you would know exactly when you are done. The lit part has reached the cig butt, and there’s no more tobacco you can draw from it. But with electronic cigarettes, nothing would shrink as you vape e liquid. You would have pretty much the same vape device as you had when you started – so how to figure out when you are done vaping enough e liquid? There are a few ways to get around it. You could keep a track on your vaping breaks and time them for, say, 5 or 10 minutes or anything in between. Or you could go outside to vape with a smoker and match your vaping length with that of smoking. Or you could vape until you get the desired nicotine rush.
